Conference Highlights

Building on past successful collaborations the host organizations, Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation, Agricultural Leadership Foundation of Hawaii, College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, and Hawaii Department of Agriculture presented the Hawaii Agriculture Conference 2006: Maximizing Your Bottom Line, on October 26, 2006 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Over 325 attendees learned to take advantage of opportunities more rapidly, get around obstacles with greater agility and to take decisive action to fulfill personal and company goals. A trade show and an awards luncheon for 500 attendees rounded out the activities of the day. On Friday October 27, 2008 three nationally known flower and foliage experts and Hawai’i’s top agricultural researchers from the University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources joined growers, shippers, and distributors in Honolulu for a the Hawaii Floriculture Industry Seminar.

As well, the Hawaii Agriculture Bioenergy Workshop participants met to discuss options for increasing markets and new opportunities for local production of ethanol, bio-diesel and bio-power.
